The department has a very good track record in handling projects.














Research

The following projects were completed in the department.

  • “MODROBS – Modernization of Microwave & Advanced Communication Engineering Laboratory”, funded by AICTE, worth Rs. 6,50,000/-. The duration of the project was 2 years and it was completed in the year 2003. The Principal Investigator was Dr. A.Sudhakar, Professor & Head of the Department of ECE.
  • “MODROBS – Modernization of Microprocessors & Computer Systems Laboratory, funded by AICTE, worth Rs. 6, 50,000/-. The duration of the project was 2 years and it was completed in the year 2008. The Principal Investigator was Dr. A.Sudhakar, Professor & Head  of the Department of ECE.  
  • “Real time text to speech conversion” carried out at ECIL, Hyderabad sponsored by APCOST, Hyderabad under student project scheme.
  • “Microprocessor Controlled Robot Arm” sponsored by APCOST, Hyderabad under student project scheme.
  • “Simulated Laser Rifle based on Microprocessor” for NCC cadets, Guntur.        
                
    The following projects are ongoing in the Department.

research“MODROBS – Modernization of Communication Engineering Laboratory”, funded by AICTE, worth Rs. 13 lakhs. The duration of the project is 1 year. The Principal Investigator is Dr. A.Sudhakar, Professor of the Department of ECE. The equipment procured under this scheme are i) WIPL-D EM solver which is used for modeling and analysis of arbitrary 3D Antennas of any geometry and its electrical characteristics  ii) Bode 100 Vector Network Analyser used for design and testing of active and passive electronic circuits.

Research Under this project many new experiments like Modeling and simulation of different types of Antennas, Analysis of antenna radiation in the proximity of other structures, etc can be conducted. It can greatly help in increasing the scope of old experiments conducted like Analysis of circular planar arrays, impedance matching with smith chart etc. The students can get awareness about latest development in technology for simulation of electrically large structures, EM modeling of trees,  foliage and complex scenarios, comparison of simulated and measured results for rectangular micro strip patch antennas etc.,

  • “Design of array Antennas for the generation of shaped beams”, funded by UGC, worth Rs. 11.67 lakhs The duration of the project is 3 years. The Principal Investigator is Dr. A.Sudhakar, Professor of the Department of ECE. Some of the objectives of this project include:
  • Design of discrete arrays of isotropic radiators for the generation of ramp and stair step patterns using amplitude and phase only control method.
  • Design of discrete arrays of non-isotropic radiators for the generation of ramp and stair step patterns using phase only control technique.
  • Design of slot arrays for the generation of desired beam shapes using transmission line approach.
